ANGELA
DUANE
That's me. And I'd be happy to write for you.
I have a ton of professional experience, and I've worked with a range of subject matter and teams.
Quite simply, I'm an excellent storyteller and collaborator.
So put me to work!
COPYWRITING
Good copy is key when it comes to selling anything. And I'm here for it.
Distilling creative concepts from strategy and research is my kind of magic.
The plan

Define it
Begin with strategy. By hammering out a creative brief, we establish target audience, objectives, and selling points. From there,
a narrative will start to take shape.
The message

Sell it
It's time to hone our story.
Brainstorm. Ideate. Finalize the concept.
Our goal is a strong hook supported by
relevant and compelling messaging.
The brand

Own it
In a market saturated with products
and choices, we must make a deeper connection with buyers to stand out,
and sustain a long-term relationship.
UX WRITING
I also enjoy the challenge of UX writing—
the creation of intuitive messaging that helps guide people
when they're interacting with a product and or digital environment.
Empathize
Step into the user's shoes:
Research.
Listen.
Understand.
Strategize
Build that roadmap:
What's the vision?
What are the goals?
What's the plan?
Optimize
Collaborate and humanize:
Create.
Test.
Iterate.

From banks to books, healthcare to hospitality, and travel to technology ...
I've written about many different products and for a range of companies.

At Concur, I created Web copy and content for global marketing groups. I strategized/developed messaging for homepages; landing/campaign pages; banners, emails, white papers, and more.

At Barnes & Noble, I managed the NOOK copy team while writing copy and UX content for Web and on-device messaging (NOOK, NOOK Books, NOOK Study, NOOK Apps, and NOOK Press).

At Chase, I wrote/edited Web marketing and UX copy/content for Consumer Retail Banking
and Commercial Banking businesses, including branch, ATM, telephone and online channels.

At Microsoft, I worked with HR and marketing teams to facilitate a global implementation of updates to Microsoft’s recruiting site functionality while simultaneously rebranding content.

At Expedia, I strategized and collaborated with design and merchandising teams to develop creative content.
I wrote and edited e-commerce copy for daily, weekly and seasonal promotions.

At HomeGrocer, I managed the copy/content team (which included daily “hands-on” writing/editing of marketing and UX messaging). I also helped develop the brand voice.

At REI, I collaborated with design, merchandising and technology teams to build and establish
the REI online store and REI Gearmail. I wrote home/landing pages, how-to content, and more.

At Nordstrom, I collaborated with designers and buyers to develop short and long-form copy
for catalogs, in-store/special-event collateral, packaging, and magazine advertising (Vogue, etc.).

At Kaiser Permanente, I developed Web/print content that aligned with and amplified organizational initiatives; ensured content was compliant with legal and regulatory standards; drove member and B2B partner engagement; maintained and advocated for brand voice; collaborated with design and business partners in concepting for and executing creative strategy.
